Cruise Nights are back Every Friday Night at Lester's.
Lester's "Cruise Night" will be starting again on Friday, April 30th and will continue every Friday evening starting at 5pm (weather permitting) through the summer. This year, Cruise Night will be sponsored by the Eastern Mass Classic Chevy Club. Drive your Classic, Antique, Muscle car or Hot Rod and be eligible for raffle prizes.

Lester's Barbecue Workshop
The outdoor patio at Lester's was filled with the sweet aroma of wood smoke and barbecue seasonings as Lester's held its first in a series of Barbecue Workshops. The workshop featured discussions on several aspects of smoking barbecue ribs and chicken.
Following a brief overview of "smoking" vs. "grilling" the workshops 25 participants were taken on a "behind the scenes tour of Lester's" kitchen while pit-boss owner Doug Shaffer described the operation of Lester's two different smokers. Then it was back out to the patio where Steve Eastridge and Scott Procko displayed and discussed the operation of five different of smokers that the home barbecue enthusiast might use to smoke different types of barbecue meats. Various fuels and temperature control techniques were also discussed.
Participants got a chance to expand their knowledge through both discussion and hands on demonstrations like formulating a "rub" for the ribs and then applying a "mustard slather" along with rub to babyback ribs that had been cooking during the three hour workshop.
There's nothing better than an ice cold beer to go along with barbecue and Lester's Manager Dave Carey discussed various beers that are best enjoyed with a barbecue meal. Next, Andy King, from the New England Barbecue Society talked about the Society's activities and how anyone can become a judge or competitor at barbecue competitions.
By 4:30, everyone had worked a powerful appetite and it was finally time to take the ribs and chicken out of the smokers and enjoy the simple pleasures of real "pit-smoked" barbecue cooked "low and slow" along with made-from-scratch side dishes from Lester's kitchen.
